CASP India - Community Aid and Sponsorship Program
Evaluation

In 1996, CASP requested Prof P D Kulkarni, an international social scientist, to prepare a perspective plan for CASP. After a detailed study of the working of various units and projects, Prof. Kulkarni prepared a Perspective Plan which led to a number of changes in policies and programmes of CASP. This report was meant for in-house circulation.

The second evaluation of CASP and CASP-PLAN was undertaken by an International Agency commissioned by Foster Parents PLAN International which resulted in changing the structure of relationship between CASP and PLAN and also modified the contents of the programme.

Apart from these two major evaluation studies, CASP undertook a number of evaluation programmes, covering specialized aspects of the project work. It included economic up-gradation of slum communities, health requirements, policies of rural development etc.. These reports were prepared by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Bombay and a number of other national research and academic institutions.

A recent review was carried out by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, a Business School in Mumbai. This Institute, commissioned by CASP, prepared a Business Plan, and submitted the same to the CASP Governing Board. Based on this report for internal circulation, a number of initiatives were undertaken by CASP.
