CASP India - Community Aid and Sponsorship Program
Marketing and Resource Generation Division


The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies recommended a business plan for CASP to develop a Marketing Division with the following objectives:

a. Fund-raising
b. Resource mobilization
c. Image building
d. Advocacy


Keeping in view the above objectives a separate division viz. Marketing and Resource Mobilization Division was created. For fund raising programme Maj Gen R. S. Pannu, a well-known fund-raiser from India, was consulted.

In the last Standing Committee meeting the targets set for the Marketing Division were as follows:

i. To increase the number of sponsored children to 2,000 in a year and
ii. To raise 50% community development projects.


Efforts are being made to achieve the targets. Some of the activities undertaken are:


Fund Raising

  • Launched a movement: "I Care, I Support the Children of Mumbai" at various outlets at Mumbai, i.e. Rs.2 to be added per bill.
  • Placed donation boxes at some reputed shops in Mumbai.
  • Organized various fund-raising events.
  • Efforts are being made to collect donations/sponsorships through corporate sectors, trusts and banks.


Resource Mobilization

  • Project Proposal based on Community Development
  • Project expansion
  • Sale of cassettes
  • Sale of books
  • Sale of films
  • Increasing sponsors
  • Consultancy services


Image Building

  • Media – Doordarshan (TV), Press, Radio.
  • Exhibitions.
  • Presentations in different service organizations like Rotary Club, Lions Club etc.


Advocacy

Participating at State, national, international platforms for HIV/AIDS, child labour.
