CASP AVERT PROJECT FOR MIGRANTS
Background :
The ratio of migration is very high in Mumbai and Thane District, which promotes high risk behavior among migrants due to freedom, peer pressure and long separation from their sexual partners. Hence there is a need to work on preventive aspects of HIV/AIDS among migrants. Accordingly we at CASP is being implementing TI Project with migrants in Thane district with support of Avert Society.
Bhayandar (East) is well known industrial area from Thane District where is approximately 1500 small industries are located, and in each industry minimum 3 and maximum 15 migrants are working. These migrants are mainly from UP, Bihar, Orissa & Gujarat and staying alone for job. Hence we consider them as our target called single migrants.
