On 9th Oct. we have arranged a Training Programme for DCC teachers. Mrs. Suchitra Joshi (Training Teacher) guided the DCC teachers regarding the proper record to be kept & the remarks to be given regarding the different issues related to functioning of DCC. These remarks helped the teachers to evaluate the progress of the children studying in DCCs. She also explained in detail regarding the Jeevan Vyavhar. A damaged door of Day Care Center at Vavoshi has been replaced through the AC International Development Fund.

On 19th Oct we celebrated “Bhondala” in Shirki DCC. All the children wore colourful dresses & they were very enthusiastic. We distributed 1 small packet of biscuits & chocolates & kurkure to them. All the children were happy & enjoyed singing different types of folk songs.

On 25th Oct. in Narangi DCC we celebrated “Kojagiri” & gave masala milk to all the children. They liked the milk very much.

In the last week of Oct. we conducted Terminal exam. in DCCs. The teachers from 3 DCC prepared the question papers For Sr. Kg. Students we conducted writing exams as well as oral exams also and for Jr. Kg. Students only oral exams were conducted. Progress Cards have been given to DCC teachers to fill up the marks and grades of terminal exam of DCC students of Sr. Kg. and Jr. Kg.

On 1st Nov. we celebrated “Diwali” festival in Shirki DCC. The children collected the paper lamps, clay lamps, crackers & we brusted few crackers & lit the clay lamps. We provided sweets i.e. motichur laddu to everyone who were present at that time. All the children, parents enjoyed the celebration. The same function was conducted in Vavoshi DCC on 3rd Nov. We provided “Chiwada & Laddu” to all the DCC children.

On 5th Nov. to 25th Nov. DCC remained closed for Diwali vacation. On 26th Nov. the work of DCC started again.

In the month of Dec. DCC teachers declared the result of Terminal exam. The 80% sponsored children of General Sponsorship programme have passed in their terminal exams. The concerned development promoters will concentrate on those children who have passed with average marks or failed in the terminal exam. & will take care that the children will perform better in the next exams.

On 5th Dec. the Development Promoter visited Shirki DCC to congratulate the children who got 1st, 2nd & 3rd rank.

The President of CASP B.G. Deshmukh presided over the function. Dignitaries like Dr. S.D. Gokhale (President Emeritus), Padmashree Dr. Pramod Kale (Vice President), Mrs. Rohini Gokhale (Secretary & Chairperson Pune & Raigad Unit), Mrs. Asha Nadkar, Mrs. Sushma Joshi (Dy. Ed. Prog), Mr. Sunil Anwardekar (Dy. ED. Finance) Mr. Joshi , Mr. S.K. Wagmare (Governing Council Member) & Mr. Ramesh Gorwadkar ( Project Manager Pune & Raigad Unit) were present. Mr. Pratap Ramchandra Dighawkar (DSP Raigad) was the Chief Guest .

The programme began with a welcome speech by Shri S.K.Waghmare followed by a brief summary of CASP Raigad Unit by Mr. Ramesh Gorwadkar. Padmashree Dr.. Pramod Kale explained the concept of Distance Education to be implemented in Raigad District.

A very much inspiring speech was delivered by Pratap Ramchandra Dighawakar stressing on the need of help for educating the poor children in rural areas. He also offered to sponsor two children through the unit.

18 sponsored children (including past sponsored) were felicitated by the dignitaries & chief guests. All the children were very much happy to receive a nice gift & appreciation from the various dignitaries of CASP. Mr. B.G.Deshmukh gifted Rs. 500/- to Nilam Shinde & Ashwini Kadam who passed the XIIth std. examination with flying colours.

Shri. S.K. Waghmare announced the names of seven more sponsors ready to help the economically handicapped children through CASP Raigad Unit. Dr. S. D. Gokhale announced the co-ordination of CASP & VANARAI in the field of Rural Development. He also announced that 50 cases are to be sponsored by International Leprosy Union.

Mr. B.G. Deshmukh in his speech assured the guidance and all possible support for extension of Raigad Unit. He expressed his hope that the Unit will grow in all respects by undertaking various projects for the unit.

Mrs. Nivedita Thakor, Co-ordinator expressed her heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Unit. Dr. Vishwas Mehendale effectively compared the programme.

Last but not the least the sponsored children presented a colourful cultural programme beginning with prayer song and welcome song and various traditional dances.
