SPECIAL PROJECTS

A.C. International Child Support, Denmark :-
CASP Mumbai supported by A.C. International Child Support, Denmark provided financial support to 50 deserving students under the Meritorious Project. Financial support was given for pursuing higher education and covered the students' various fees including college fees and coaching class fees, and books and stationery expenses. A.C. International Child Support also supported families in Kerala. Its Development Fund was utilized for fulfilling the needs of the sponsored families in CASP Raigad Unit Pen. The needs of eight families were identified in consultation with them and subsequently fulfilled.

Enfant Du Monde, France :-
CASP Plan supported by Enfant Du Monde , France continued to operate 3 day care centers in the villages Gorthan, Narangi and Shirki in Raigad. Ninety children benefited from the program and were provided with nutritious food and education aid including uniforms and study material. Various recreational activities like picnics, sports day and festival celebrations were organized at the centers. Multiple training workshops organized for teachers enhanced their knowledge of child psychology and equipped them with improved skills to care for children.

Foster Care Scheme (Bal Sangopan Yojana) :-
CASP Mumbai and CASP Pune received approval for sanctioning grants to 500 children each under the Foster Care Scheme of the Government of Maharashtra totaling to 1000 children in all from February 2007.

K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, Mumbai :-
CASP in association with the K.C. Mahindra Education Trust continued to provide development opportunities to young girls in the age group of 3-8 years through the project “ Nanhi Kali ” (meaning little bud). The project in operation since 1999, provided sponsorship to 200 girls from primary and secondary schools and ensured the availability of education aid to the girls.

Dr. Shankaran and Mrs. Vyoma Nair - Mid Day Meal Scheme :-
CASP Mumbai supported by Dr. Shankaran and Mrs. Vyoma Nair continued to provide nutritious mid day meals prepared in the community kitchen to 1100 young children. The project is proving of great value to children and community women who are engaged in preparing and serving the meals. A source of livelihood to the mahila mandals (women's groups) the project is playing a vital role in ensuring the health of children.

Mumbai Port Trust :-
CASP Mumbai provided support to 20 challenged children sponsored by the Mumbai Port Trust. Home and school visits were made to the children who were also provided with requisite medical aid and guidance. Parents were motivated, counseled and guided in taking better care of the children. The families were involved in common activities through a picnic thereby enabling a happy experience for the entire family. To mark the National Handicapped Day the children were prepared to put up a cultural program and participate in a drawing competition. The program elicited a huge positive response from the parents and children.

TDH Denmark :-
CASP Rajagiri Kerala supported by TDH Germany and in association with the Rajagiri Disaster Management Cell continues to sponsor 390 children affected by the Tsunami. Children were provided study material and other necessary aid.
